I just went as far as seventh grade in school.  I didn't get to finish, because my daddy couldn't pay the tuition.  I helped at home until I was 17 and then got a job at the cotton mill.  I was a spinner and earned nine dollars a week.  That was enough to pay board and support myself.  I stopped working after I got married.
